Do pay attention to the "Ain't this the Life's" to the left

So I've actually for real started the hand-drawn comic I've wanted to to do for a while now. Right now, of course, there's just the one, but I've got another completed to put up tomorrow and I'm partway through a third.

I'm also going to be creating a separate page where you can see the comic without having to scroll, and it can be linked to and all that good stuff.

After searching for a bit I was able to find a Mootools script to allow the mousewheel to control horizontal scrolling, so that's cool. Anyways, yeah, check it out and there'll be more of them in the coming days.

Pay no attention to those "Ain't this the Life's" below

Yeah so I'm actually not doing those anymore. I've switched to working on a hand-drawn comic that'll take over the name but, really, none of the content.

Why? I like the title and think it deserves a better medium. Now, I'm drawing the whole thing in pen in a steno notebook so the quality of image is going to be lowwww for the sake of image load times, but I think that kind of adds to it.

Anyways, I'm working on a delivery system for it since I want to always be on the front page. Looks like this area of the site will have to be actual fiction what comes out of my head :\

Compromised credit is awesome!

So today I get a letter from Countrywide saying that my mortgage account was one of the many that was apparently sold to "third parties" by a former employee.

They're lucky I was in a letter-opening mood because I nearly chucked the thing without even opening it. I mean, at least once a week they send out junk "Protect your credit" mail or crap about debt consolidation, so I nearly figured it was another one of those.

But I gave them the benefit of the doubt and peered into this VERY IMPORTANT envelope. The first thing I see are the words "deeply regret this incident" which, if you don't know, are not words you want coming from your mortgage company. That's up there with "and you must vacate by the 30th" for bad home-ownership news.

Anyways, yeah it totally sucks, but on the plus side I get two free years of credit report monitoring. That's kinda cool, actually. I can see all the companies I've ever owed money to, along with my total debt in this world.

I can't even be depressed or worried about that part, it's just a laughably huge amount of money. Between the house, car, student loans, various credit cards and whatnot, it just doesn't even register with me. I keep paying, I keep owing, the cycle of life continues.

Maybe one day when I'm in my late 60s I'll finally see a clean credit sheet with the coveted $0 balance, but I'm not holding my breath. Especially if there's a team of Russian mobsters out there playing fast and loose with my mother's maiden name.

Ain't this the Life!

So if you're one of the number of people who have stumbled upon this site because you did a Google search for something Trukz related, you may have noticed I've started up a new piece called "Ain't this the Life!". To my Finnish friends who seem exceptionally into Trukz I say "Tervetuloa!".

I'm going to make-believe that a lot of people have been asking me questions about the comic (which is the best word I can think of at this point), and answer a few questions no one has really asked but I imagine they might if there were more people looking at it.

1. Yes, the panels are connected. If you start from 1 and read through to, well, for now, 3, there is a coherent storyline.

2. The football helmet is integral to the story, but more so to make me feel like I'm not just captioning oil paintings.

3. There is a point to it all! I actually came up with the central bit (what some may call "the plot"), which I haven't put up yet, last week, and so I'm working up to it.

4. It may not always be captioned/lightly Photoshopped oil paintings. There might be an acrylic or, who knows, even a watercolor thrown in there at some point.

5. I'm not just dicking around to increase the number of posts I make. I'm actually into the story so there's a good chance it won't suck. I think it's neat, anyways.

I hope that helps sort a few things out, my non-existent/Finnish readers. And to the people who actually do read the site who are neither non-existent nor Finnish, thank you the most, for you make my morning Google Analytics check a bit brighter.
