Is there anything more satisfying than knowing you won't die of starvation? Maybe, but we're not concerned with that. What we're talking about here is food; more specifically, individual food items that are prepared in such a way as to form "meals".
Meals have a long and storied history. From the first twig & berries favored by early humans, to the half a souffle enjoyed by late dinner guests. From the succulent cuts of meat and exotic fruits & vegetables enjoyed by the emperors of ancient Rome, to the succulent cuts of meat and exotic fruits & vegetables enjoyed by the emperors of ancient China.
Why, were it not for meals, we'd all be eating snacks incessantly. And while Chee-tos & a Twinkie can make a fine Twink-tanic (flip the Twinkie on its back and put a Chee-to in each of the 3 holes; see, a little boat!), they are no match for a proper eggs benedict. And no, white gravy will not save you.
Yes from time immemorial meals have given us many things: proper nutrition, the opportunity to scrape our teeth against metal objects, a time to bond with family members that involves neither speaking nor eye contact.
